Terms of Service

OilHive (the “Service”) is a data-sharing platform on which vehicle owners can submit and view records of engine oil changes, fill-ups, and mileage. The Service aims to accumulate open data from user-submitted entries and to facilitate information sharing among users of the same vehicle.

Data submitted by users (oil brand, viscosity, change mileage, fuel volume, fuel economy, etc.) is stored on our servers to the extent necessary to operate the Service. Submitted data may be aggregated and published as anonymised statistics.

Please do not include personally identifiable information (name, address, contact details) in your submissions. If included, the operator reserves the right to remove or anonymise such information.

By submitting data to the Service, users are deemed to have consented to use of their submissions for the following purposes:

• Generation and publication of statistics by vehicle and by oil
• Analysis to improve the Service and develop features
• Research and reporting purposes in anonymised form
• Anonymised statistical reports for manufacturers and the wider industry in the future

If you wish to delete data you submitted, please contact us below with the submission date and a brief description. We will respond within 14 days of receipt. Note that anonymised, aggregated statistics may remain in a form that cannot identify individuals.

Data published on the Service is self-reported by users; we make no warranty as to its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. All decisions regarding oil changes and refuelling are made at the user's own responsibility.

The operator assumes no liability for damages arising from use of the Service (including vehicle failure, riding trouble, or misuse of data).
